Privacy policy
Effective 2 October 2026
Almanac is a backtesting tool run by Sensibear. This page says what we collect when you use it, why, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
- Your Google account basics. When you log in with Google we receive your email address, your name and your profile picture link. We never see your Google password.
- Sign-in records. The time of each sign-in, the IP address and country it came from, and your browser's name, so we can keep accounts safe and spot misuse.
- What you ask. Your questions, your answers to Almanac's clarifying questions, the tests and reports it produces, and any feedback you leave.
- Usage. How many questions you ask and what each one cost us to run, so we can keep the service within its limits.
We don't collect payment details, trading account details or contacts. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts on Almanac.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your questions and reports private to your account.
- To run your tests and show you the results.
- To enforce fair-use limits and protect the service from abuse.
- To fix problems and improve Almanac. We may read questions and reports for this.
We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else processes it
- Google, to sign you in.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts Almanac and its database in its Mumbai region.
- Cloudflare, which carries traffic to Almanac and protects it from attacks.
- AI service providers, which receive the text of your questions and answers to understand them and build each test.
- Telegram, which carries alerts to the person running Almanac when someone signs in, including the email address, IP address and country of the sign-in.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
Almanac sets one cookie to keep you logged in for up to 30 days, and a short-lived one that protects the Google sign-in step. It also keeps a question you picked on this site in your browser for the moment it takes to log in. Nothing is used to track you across other sites.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, questions and reports while your account exists, so your history is there when you come back. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your data within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account. A contact address for these requests will be published on this page; we reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Security
Everything between your browser and Almanac is encrypted in transit. Login tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, and your questions are visible to your account alone. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
Children
Almanac is for adults. Don't use it if you are under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you when you next log in.
